About World Travel According to Stacey Ray

Seven continents. Nearly 100 countries. Both poles.
So yes, I’ve earned the right to have opinions about travel.

I’m Stacey Ray—world traveler, founder of Sisterhood Travels, and a frequent provider of unsolicited opinions about destinations, culture, and the travel industry.

I’m currently in what I like to call my third act, which means I’m less interested in travel trends and far more interested in fascinating places, meaningful experiences, and seeing as much of the world as possible while my passport still has blank pages and this old heart still wants adventure.

Throughout my travels, I’ve learned something important:

If you want to believe the world is terrible, watch the news.
If you want to believe the world is amazing, buy a plane ticket.

I’ve tested this theory in nearly 100 countries. And it’s 100% true.

What You’ll Find Here

This isn’t a “perfect travel” blog.

You won’t find:

  • packed itineraries you have to follow

  • pressure to be a foodie

  • or advice that only works if you’re 25 and backpacking

What you will find:

  • real travel stories (the good, the frustrating, and the funny)

  • practical advice that actually helps

  • honest takes on things like safety, group travel, and what can go wrong

  • and a little bit of humor—because if you’re not laughing, you’re doing it wrong

My Travel Style (In Case You’re Wondering)

I like:

  • a centrally located hotel

  • a little bit of luxury (ok, a lot of luxury)

  • my own room

  • and a plan… with flexibility

I don’t like:

  • unnecessary stress

  • overpacking

  • or sharing a room (we can still be friends, just… separately at night)

I believe:

  • you don’t have to do everything together when you travel

  • it’s okay to take a break and recharge

  • and how you treat people—especially in the service industry—matters more than anything

Who This Is For

This is for anyone who:

  • wants to travel more (or start traveling at all)

  • likes comfort but still wants adventure

  • doesn’t feel like they fit the “typical travel influencer” mold

  • and want real talk instead of perfection

You don’t have to be fearless.

You just have to be willing.

Why I Write This

Because I know how easy it is to think “I’ll do that someday.”

And then someday keeps getting pushed further and further away.

This is your reminder not to wait.

The world is still out there.

And it’s not as intimidating—or as complicated—as it sometimes feels.

So If You’re Here…

You’re probably curious.
Maybe a little cautious.
Maybe ready for something new.

You’re in the right place.

And I’m really glad you’re here.
